High Himalayan Valley
Defender
GENRE From far away you call
You, the abode of snows
Once again I heed the call
I know I have to go
And as we walk this ridge
The morning sun reveals
We cross the bamboo bridge
Glorious glacier peaks
And as I close my eyes
She lives inside my mind
Into the sky they rise
Scarred by wind and time
Eternal majesty
Your beauty unsurpassed
You are divinity
As we ascend the pass
Snow covered peaks surround
Rising into crystal air
High Himalayan valley
My heart is lying there
This is wherе I belong
It’s something oh, so strong
I know I cannot say
Not evеn through this song
Because I have no choice
I simply have to go
Follow my inner voice
My heart it tells me so
Chomolungma, Kanchenjunga
Lhotse and Makalu
Dhaulagiri, Annapurna
Cho Oyu, Manaslu
We’re climbing oh so high
Into the crystal sky
Spread out below us now
Is where the lowlands lie
We are so short of breath
Into the zone of death
And as the sun now sets
The west face now reflects
The golden reddish light
Above us stars so bright
The air is crystal clear
No one can live up here
We are the mountain’s guests
She deserves our respect
She is a living thing
She is a living thing
Sound of bells in the morning hour
The yaks are on the graze
Breaking camp in the early hours
Under the south-east face
We are so high up here
Way up in the air
High Himalayan valley
My heart is lying there
(Dedicated to the people of Tibet –
Your fight is my fight)
