The Thief
Raphael Gimenes
GENRE Silent forest
A love was lost within my heart
Like specks of sunlight through your leaves
The sunburst was bright
Enough to warm me
But it made me blind
To the shadows of her thoughts
Mmm...
I can hear it:
My solitude
A melody that echoes through the narrow gorge
Above the tree line
Of my own logic
My love’s still growing Like moss growing on a rock
Mmm...
I’ve been disillusioned
But I carry the verb
I stole from a poet
Whose poem had no rhymes
Caught within a bird dream
I can sing the sun
I can redo
All the things you’ve left undone
I can join the butterflies on river banks
With them become
Color and song
A love was lost within my heart
Like specks of sunlight through your leaves
The sunburst was bright
Enough to warm me
But it made me blind
To the shadows of her thoughts
Mmm...
I can hear it:
My solitude
A melody that echoes through the narrow gorge
Above the tree line
Of my own logic
My love’s still growing Like moss growing on a rock
Mmm...
I’ve been disillusioned
But I carry the verb
I stole from a poet
Whose poem had no rhymes
Caught within a bird dream
I can sing the sun
I can redo
All the things you’ve left undone
I can join the butterflies on river banks
With them become
Color and song
