Moment by Moment
Alexander Sage Oyen
GENRE Is anybody listening? (x9)
I don't really know you (x7)
We may not live forever (x5)
Falling feels like flying (x4)
And I want much more for you my son (x4)
I look at all these choices in life that I’ve made
The friendships and the loves that have all gone to waste
And then I see the people in my life that have stayed
Through the highs and the lowest of the lows I have faced
I don't know why sometimes I can't see through
The terrible things my mind can do
And all the hardships that I struggle through
Moment by moment, I stumble and I fall
I wander ’round this world, making sense of it all
Moment by moment, I am shown the door
But in the end, I can't pretend there's anything I'd trade this moment for
I've never been a person who has spoken his mind
Though everyone I know would tell you differently, I'm sure
I've always had a cool or catchy hook to hide behind
Pull a little Sondheim (???) and obscure
But moment by moment, I look both ways and trip
I wanna find my balance, but first I've got to find my grip
Moment by moment, I yearn for something more
But in the end I can’t pretend there’s anything I'd trade this moment for
Tonight could be eternity for us
Remembering the moments that we treasure
Tomorrow the depressing (???)
We waste away the hours that I measure, but
We may not live forever
We may not have to
To set this world on fire
To burn the night away
We may not for (???)
Moment by moment, to stumble and to fall
To wonder ’round this world, making sense of it all
Moment by moment, I am shown the door
But in the end I can't pretend there's anything
There's anything
There’s nothing that I'd trade this moment for
I don't really know you (x7)
We may not live forever (x5)
Falling feels like flying (x4)
